MAY UPDATE!

1. First time at a Friends Event?

Last week I had a great chat with one of the girls from the Friends Project, over a cup of coffee. Where she shared her story, how she came to denmark, and finally she mention actually she had not come to an event as of now.  She said she had been nervous to come along alone and had asked a friend or two from school to come with the first time, but they could not. And then she did not have the courage to come herself. This was really really great input I told her.  And I talk to a few other women who said they too had the same fear of coming into a group of women, and being the new one.  And we would like to say that every woman in Friends has been where you are, either new in the country or new to the project, they would love to meet you and hear your story, and get to know you.  We always say Friends Cafe is like going to a cafe where you can sit with anyone, say hello and begin a friendship, it is what we are here for and what we believe in.  So we would love to encourage everyone no matter where you come from or how old you are, to give it a try.  Plus the cake and coffee bar is pretty good.

2. Cafe Night: Once a month we hold an open cafe night for women of all ages, a place to meet up with friends, and meet new friends. Think of a cafe, where you can sit down with anyone and start a conversation, and know its welcome. Mix that with coffee, tea, and hygge and you start to see how the night looks.
This Months Theme is “Your STORY.” We all have a story to tell, good, bad, beautiful, crazy, kinda boring but sweet, sad, maybe even hopeful. We would like to share stories, and we will have some optional creative spaces to do this if you want to. But as normal we will have cake, coffee, tea, and lots of hygge. So come bring a friend or just come and make a new friend!

And so it is that when I have been an ordinary Gospel Night it can seriously help me the rest of the week. I have it in me and I have joy in me. Gospel is my life for the whole week – This is where I collect energy ….. “Marcel, soloist at City Gospel, Member of the” Alien Beat Club “from X-Factor.

5. Girls Night Out @ NORD NIGHT CLUB. Saturday, April 7, 2012, 10:00 PM
Maja and Kate are hosting: Girls Night out @ Natklub “Nord”…It’s a great (stylish) night club in the center of Copenhagen Check out all the snazzy details of this stylish night club: www.nordnatklub.dk/30konceptet.

The special thing about this night club is that it attracts a more “grown up” audience: In fact you have to be at least 30 years old to get in! FREE entrance before 11 pm/ after: 90,- Let’s meet (exactly) at 10 pm outside – when the club opens – there won’t be a lot of people at that time but then we are sure not to stand in line to get in…And get a few tables inside. They have a rule: for every number of 6 guests ONE person under the age of 30 (but over 25) can come in! So if we are a group of 18 people: 3 out of us can be under 30 years old.

PS: If you get there later than 10 pm you will have to find us inside (hope you are able to! Please make a comment when you RSVP if you can’t make it at 10 pm – and remember: It will cost you 90,- after 11 pm! (If you are under 30 years old you will have to take your chances..If they should check your ID I can’t guarantee you will be let.  Meetup: http://www.meetup.com/Friendsproject/events/56298822/.
